WHAT WE ARE

History

The Saint John Executives’ Association (SJXA) was formed in 1960 by a group of small business executives.  The group met weekly to share information about the impact, current activities within the business community, had upon the businesses of each or all of its members. Today, building on its valuable premise, SJXA is an exclusive Association, providing vital information, support and prosperity to its growing membership network.

 

Mission and Vision

SJXA is a leading-edge group of entrepreneurs, sharing strong values with a determination to win.  We focus on the growth of our businesses, our people, and our region; with an awareness of the economic challenges and demands of the Saint John area, and the changing business world around us.  SJXA offers unique advantages to members through education, mentoring and business leads.

Membership

SJXA selects only top Saint John Area business representatives to form its membership.  New members, proposed by current SJXA members, undergo a rigorous vetting and approval process before being invited to join the Association.  Memberships are limited to one organization per professional category.  Eligibility for membership is extended to diversified businesses, whose products or services represent a minimum of 60% of the business category for which they are proposed.

Growth

SJXA prides itself on the successful growth of our members and their businesses - gained through networking with mentoring business leaders and skilled decision-makers at our weekly information sharing meetings.  Our speaker series, focused business conversations and education sessions, provide learning experiences, which are reflected in the increased management acumen of our members and profitability of their businesses.

Member businesses gain visibility and brand exposure by participating in the powerful SJXA network, and by utilizing the Association website to promote their organizations.

Synergy

Sharing business ideas, knowledge, and solutions is a benefit all members realize. By gaining access to the accumulated experience and business expertise of SJXA entrepreneurs, members become part of a synergy no business owner could find alone.  We use group power to learn, move through and overcome obstacles - together.

Our keynote speakers are chosen to address top of mind topics, and provide competent insight and guidance to business owners.

Relationships

While, each business is the primary SJXA member, it is its representative who must be aligned with the Association’s values of:  knowledge, trust, respect and support.  Participation, dependability, openness to sharing knowledge and information, as well as, providing high quality goods and services, are critical to the value each member gives and receives through Association involvement.

SJXA businesses thrive on building and nurturing business relationships.  They promote the prosperity of businesses within the group, by supporting each other through reciprocal member purchasing, sharing successful strategies, and promoting the prosperity of economic region as a whole.
